Greg Crippen (born February 17, 2002) is an American college football center for the Michigan Wolverines. He won three consecutive Big Ten Conference titles, and a national championship in 2023.
Early life
[edit | edit source]Crippen attended Milton Academy for his first two years, before transferring to IMG Academy.[1] Coming out of high school, he was rated as a four star recruit, the 11th overall offensive guard, and the 222nd overall player in the class of 2021, where he held offers from schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC.[2][3] Initially, Crippen committed to play college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.[4] However, he later de-committed and signed to play for the Michigan Wolverines.[2]
College career
[edit | edit source]During his first season in 2021, he appeared in six games.[5] In the 2022 season, Crippen used the year to redshirt.[6] During the 2023 season, he played in nine games, as he helped the Wolverines to a National Championship.[7] Crippen entered the 2024 season as the backup center once again, but by week seven he took over as the team's starting after, Dominick Giudice went down with an injury.[8] He finished the 2024 season, playing in 11 games, while making eight starts.[9] Heading into the 2025 season, Crippen is projected to once again be the Wolverines starting center.[10]
