Cameron Calhoun (born October 2, 2004) is an American college football cornerback for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He previously played for the Michigan Wolverines and the Utah Utes.

Early life

[edit | edit source]

Calhoun attended Winton Woods High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was rated as a three-star recruit.[1] He held over 20 NCAA Division I offers, which he trimmed to a final four of Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and West Virginia.[1][2] Calhoun initially committed to play for the West Virginia Mountaineers,[1] and the Cincinnati Bearcats.[3] After two de-commitments, he made his final decision to play college football for the Michigan Wolverines.[4]

College career

[edit | edit source]

Michigan

[edit | edit source]

As a freshman in 2023, Calhoun appeared in two games and recorded no statistics for the Michigan Wolverines team that won a national championship that season.[5] After the 2023 regular season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal and opted out of playing in the postseason.[6]

Calhoun transferred to play for the Utah Utes.[5] He entered the Utes' rotation after starter Kenan Johnson went down with a season-ending injury in the 2024 season opener.[7] In week 3, Calhoun got his first collegiate interception in a win over Utah State.[8] On December 10, 2024, he entered the transfer portal for a second time in as many years.[9]

Alabama

[edit | edit source]

On December 18, 2024, Calhoun announced that he would transfer to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide.[10]
