Valambray (French pronunciation: [valɑ̃bʁɛ]) is a commune in the department of Calvados, northwestern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former communes of Airan (the seat), Billy, Conteville, Fierville-Bray and Poussy-la-Campagne.[2]


Geography

The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, Airan, Valmeray, Conteville, Billy, Poussy-la-Campagne, Bray la Campagne, Cinq Autels and Danneville.[3]

A single watercourse, the Muance river flows through the commune.[4]

The Commune has three buildings and areas listed as a Monument historique[5]

  • Église Saint-Germain twelfth century church listed as a monument in 1930.[6]
  • Château de Coupigny an eighteenth centaury chateau that was classed as a Monument historique in 1927.[7]
  • Moulin à eau a water mill built in 1682 to grind flour that was classed as a Monument historique in 1975.[8]
