ZeptoLab (stylised in all lowercase) is a Russian video game developer founded on January 10, 2008 by Semyon and Efim Voinov, and headquartered in Moscow, with additional offices in Barcelona and London. It is known for the Cut the Rope series of video games.

History

[edit | edit source]

ZeptoLab was founded in 2008 by twins Efim and Semyon Voinov, who have been making games since the age of ten.[3] Its name originates from “Zepto”, a math prefix meaning 10−21, to “signify how truly boutique their operation was.”[4]

ZeptoLab has not received any external funding to produce their games.[5] It owns a game studio subsidiary in the UK and started a publishing division in 2017.[6] The company’s headquarters was relocated from Moscow to Barcelona in 2017.[7]

In January 2025, Nazara Technologies acquired the intellectual property of CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Stars and King of Thieves for Rs 660,000,000.[8] The games will be published under Nazara Publishing.[8]
