Wes Gordon (born 1986 or 1987) is an American fashion designer.[1]
Early life and education
[edit | edit source]Born in Chicago, Illinois, Gordon was raised in Atlanta, Georgia.[1] He attended the Lovett School in Atlanta and graduated in 2005. He graduated from Central St. Martins in London in 2009. During his studies, he spent two summers interning with Oscar de la Renta in New York before working part-time at Tom Ford’s London atelier in Chelsea.[2]
Career
[edit | edit source]Wes Gordon, 2009–18
[edit | edit source]After graduating, Gordon moved to New York's Financial District[3] and launched his own self named line of women's wear the same year.[4] The department stores Harrods and Saks Fifth Avenue stocked his designs, followed by Bergdorf Goodman and Kirna Zabête the following year. Katy Perry, January Jones, Lena Dunham, and Gwyneth Paltrow have all worn his designs.[1][5]
Carolina Herrera, 2018–present
[edit | edit source]After having worked as her creative consultant since 2017, he took over from Carolina Herrera as creative director at the eponymous fashion label in 2018.[6]
Personal life
[edit | edit source]Gordon lives with his partner Paul Arnhold in New York's Tribeca area.[7] Since 2014, he has also had a 50-acre farm in Roxbury, Connecticut.[8][9][10]
