Trans Pride Seattle was first founded in 1997 as a march and protest in Capitol Hill.[2] It was revived 16 years later by Gender Justice League on June 23, 2013, in Cal Anderson Park.[3][4][5]

The pride has grown to tens of thousands of attendees. In 2024 they required attendees to wear masks, and had ASL interpreters for the stage events. They also live streamed the events for those who may be unable to attend.[6]
