The Creative Center was a private for-profit career college in Omaha, Nebraska. Opened in 1993, it offered both associate's and bachelor's degrees in graphic design. It operated out of a strip-mall near 108th & Maple in Northwest Omaha. In 2021, the center announced via social media that it would close due to a decline in enrolment.
History
[edit | edit source]The Creative Center was founded in 1993 by Ray Dotzler, an owner of a commercial design studio, and his wife Jan Dotzler. In June 2006, it was approved to offer Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees.[1] On January 11, 2021, the college announced via posts on Facebook and Instagram that it would cease operations within the following six months. It cited "a national trend of declining enrolment" as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
