This is the WikiProject banner template used by Smithsonian Institution to keep track of articles within its scope. All articles are categorised into Category:WikiProject Smithsonian Institution-related articles.

Basic usage

Place this on the talk page of relevant articles:

Full usage

It is usual to remove any unused parameters from the template call.

Parameters

• importance – see #Importance assessment below.
• category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Task forces

• SIART – set |SIART=yes if the article is supported by WikiProject Archives of American Art. This parameter populates Category:Archives of American Art-related articles. This parameter populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Archives of American Art-related articles by quality based on the |class= parameter.
• SIART-importance – This parameter sets the importance of the article according to WikiProject Archives of American Art. It populates the relevant subcategory of Category:Archives of American Art-related articles by importance. See #Importance assessment for valid values.

Deprecated parameters

• listas – this parameter should be used with the banner shell template, not on individual project banners. Please see Template:WikiProject banner shell for details.

This project uses the standard importance scale. Valid values are shown below.
