Template:Quick message/doc

This template works as a quick way for a user to substitute a custom message from a subpage in their userspace.

For example, User:Example can use {{subst:qm}}, and the result will be the same as using {{subst:User:Example/Quick message}}.

To substitute a subpage other than User:[Your username]/Quick messageUser:[Your username]/Quick message, add a parameter with the subpage name.

For example, User:Jimbo Wales could use {{subst:qm|Tools}}, and the result will be the same as using {{subst:User:Jimbo Wales/Tools}}.

Alternatively, User:[Your username]/Quick messageUser:[Your username]/Quick message can be redirected to whatever page you want substituted.

To include your signature in the preset message, use ~~<noinclude/>~~ where you would normally put ~~~~.

Aside from custom messages, this can be useful for creating an alternative signature. To include a datestamp in the message, use {{ {{{|safesubst}}}:5~}}.
