Template:Period end ratification/doc

The Period end ratification template takes a unit from the geological time scale, and extracts the ratification date and proper reference from the following unit in that time scale.

Usage

For a more detailed description on how to use this template, see Template:Period end and Template:Period start ratification.

This template behaves similarly to the "Period end" template, and even uses "Template:Next period" in its structure. Due to its similar behavior, it inherits the parameters of "Template:Period start ratification" in full, using the following syntax:

Parameters

The following parameters are used to edit how this template displays its ratification information:

• in-name-only: Switches the information of a certain period to the date and reference of when its name was ratified, but not its GSSP. This parameter only works for certain chronological units that support such information.
• reference-only: Displays only the reference of the ratification, rather than the supplimented year or date. This omits the direct notation to the references page number, if any. If the ratification is not formally defined, or is otherwise presented without a date, a hyphen ("-") is displayed in its place.

Lists the ratification date of the unit following a certain chronological unit.
