Purpose

This template enables expeditious and accurate inclusion of a reference from one of the seven American editions or the single international edition of the The Official Encyclopedia of Bridge; these references are usually in contract bridge articles. The seventh American edition was published in late 2011.

Usage

The template would normally be used between <ref> </ref> tags.

There are two parameters:

• The first parameter is required. It must be either:
  • an integer between 1 and 7 inclusive to specify one of the seven American editions of the encyclopedia being referenced or
  • '7CD' to invoke a reference to the CD accompanying the book of the 7th Edition; the CD comprises biographies and tournament event results included in previous bound editions
  • IE to specify the International Edition of 1967
• The second parameter is recommended but optional. It is the page number on which the reference begins.

If the edition parameter is missing or is not one of the permitted values, an error message is returned.
