This template is for linking to pages of The World Factbook, a publication of the United States Central Intelligence Agency.

Usage

The template wraps {{cite web}}: All parameters for {{cite web}} are accepted. The three exceptions are |country=, |year=, and |section=:

• {{Cite CIA World Factbook|country=COUNTRY NAME}} →
• {{Cite CIA World Factbook|country=COUNTRY NAME|year=2000}} →  (Archived 2000 edition.)
• {{Cite CIA World Factbook|country=COUNTRY NAME|section=section|year=2000}} →  (Archived 2000 edition.)

The template links to the CIA archive for the entire World Factbook for the year given by |year=. This is a large file that may not be suitable for mobile devices. Editors can add |archive-date=, |archive-url=, and |url-status= to provide an archive for an individual country.
