Taulil is classified as Vulnerable by the UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger.

Taulil is a Papuan language spoken in East New Britain Province on the island of New Britain, Papua New Guinea.

It is spoken in Kadaulung village of (Lua error: callParserFunction: function "#coordinates" was not found.) of Inland Baining Rural LLG, and in Taulil 1 (Lua error: callParserFunction: function "#coordinates" was not found.) and Taulil 2 (Lua error: callParserFunction: function "#coordinates" was not found.) villages of Vunadidir/Toma Rural LLG.[1][2]

Butam (now extinct) is related. Like the Butam, the Taulil people trace their ancestry to New Ireland.[3]
