Transmembrane and immunoglobulin domain containing 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TMIGD1 gene.[1] TMIGD1 was discovered by the lab of Giancarlo Marra[2] and later cloned by Nader Rahimi.[3][4] Recent findings suggest functions in brush border formation (intestinal epithelium) and roles as tumor suppressor (kidney and intestine).[5]
