Samarjit Lankesh is an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry, who made his lead debut through Gowri (2024).[1]
Early life
[edit | edit source]Born into a family with a cinematic and literary heritage, he is the son of director and producer Indrajit Lankesh and the grandson of writer-filmmaker P. Lankesh.[2][3][4] whose works are considered seminal in modern Kannada literature.[5] He is nephew of Gauri Lankesh and Kavitha Lankesh.[6]
He later pursued theatre studies and received training in acting and filmmaking from an institute in New York, equipping him with a foundation for his career in the entertainment industry.[6][4]
Career
[edit | edit source]He started his career in films as child artist in the bilingual film Summer Holidays[7][8] directed by Kavitha Lankesh.
In 2024, Samarjit made his acting debut as lead in the Kannada film Gowri, directed by his father, Indrajit Lankesh.[9][10]
