Tawanda Mambo (born 12 February 1997), known professionally as Saintfloew, is a Zimbabwean hip-hop artist and songwriter. Emerging from Chitungwiza, he gained national recognition with his 2022 hit single "Silas Mavende". Known for his introspective lyrics and fusion of hip-hop with Afro-pop elements, Saintfloew has become a prominent figure in Zimbabwe's contemporary music scene.
Early life and education
[edit | edit source]Saintfloew was born and raised in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. He began his music career in 2012, participating in underground rap battles and sharing freestyles on social media. Details about his formal education remain private, but his upbringing in Chitungwiza has significantly influenced his musical style and themes.[1]
Music career
[edit | edit source]Saintfloew's breakthrough came with the release of "Silas Mavende" in 2022, which garnered significant airplay on Zimbabwean radio stations. He followed up with several successful singles, including:

In 2023, he released the EP "Sauna Season", reflecting on personal struggles and growth. His debut album, "Rise and Lead", was launched on 7 October 2023 at Alex Sports Club in Harare.[2]
In September 2024, Saintfloew signed a distribution deal with Virgin Music Group South Africa, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, marking a significant milestone in his career.[3]
Personal life
[edit | edit source]In January 2024, Saintfloew married his long-time girlfriend, Beverly, in an intimate ceremony attended by family and friends.[4]
Challenges and recovery
[edit | edit source]Saintfloew has been open about his struggles with drug addiction. In August 2023, he checked into a rehabilitation facility in South Africa with the support of businessman Tinashe Mutarisi.[5] His experiences have influenced his music, particularly in the EP "Sauna Season".
