Prince K. Moye is a Liberian politician who has served as Senior Senator representing Bong County in the Senate of Liberia since 2021. He was elected in the 2020 Liberian senatorial elections and is a member of the 55th Legislature of Liberia. [1] Moye has served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget, one of the Legislature's key fiscal oversight bodies responsible for revenue, taxation, and national budget matters. Political career

Prince K. Moye began his career in elective politics in 2011, when he successfully ran for the House of Representatives seat for Jorquelleh District Two in Bong County. In that race, he won a reported 80 percent of the votes against several other candidates, marking his entry into national legislative representation. [4][5][6] Moye was subsequently re-elected as Representative in 2017, reinforcing his political support within the district. [7][5] In 2018, Moye was elected Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, a leadership position that reflected cross-party respect and influence in the legislature. [8][6][9][10] In the 2020 senatorial elections, Moye transitioned to the senate, winning the seat for Bong County with reported victories across all seven of the county's political districts. [1]

Legislative work and advocacy

In 2025, Moye publicly urged Liberia's Legislature to adopt realistic revenue projections in the national budget, warning that inflated figures could undermine fiscal credibility and public trust. [11][12] He later raised concerns over a reported US$5.2 million revenue shortfall during the first quarter of the 2025 fiscal year, citing slow budget execution and structural challenges in revenue collection. Social development fund advocacy

Moye has been a leading voice in Bong County's calls for accountability from concession companies. In 2025, he stated that China Union Steel Company allegedly owed more than US$11 million in unpaid Social Development Funds (SDF) to Bong County, arguing that the non-payment had stalled community development projects. [15][16] The matter generated public debate, including exchanged between Moye and other lawmakers over responsibility for the management and enforcement of SDF obligations. [17][18][19]

Youth and sports

In 2025, Moye was named title sponsor of the Inter-School Sports Association (ISSA) National Championship, which was hosted in Bong County for the first time. The sponsorship was attributed to his record of supporting youth development and student programs. [20][21][22]

In 2025, he publicly responded to allegations from other legislators accusing him of failing to deliver development to Bong County, defending his actions and describing the claims as politically motivated. [23][24][25] Moye has also faced criticism from some residents and commentators who question whether all announced development projects and funding commitments have translated into long-term improvement across all districts of Bong County. These concerns have centered on delays in infrastructure projects and the enforcement of concession-related social development payments. [26][27]
