Pierse Power (1827 – 1889) was an Irish Roman Catholic clergyman who served as the Bishop of Waterford and Lismore from 1887 until his death.[1]
Life
[edit | edit source]Power was educated at St John's College, Waterford and St Patrick's College, Maynooth.[2] After a curacy at Clonmel, he was on the staff of St John's from 1858 until 1879.[2] Power was parish priest at Dungarvan from 1879 until 1886 when he was ordained Coadjutor bishop of Waterford and Lismore with the right of succession. He became bishop on 17 December 1887[3] and served until his death on 22 May 1889.[2]
