Object Z is a six-part British television science fiction series made by Rediffusion, first transmitted by ITV in 1965.[1]
Plot
[edit | edit source]A mysterious object is found to be approaching Earth by Prof Ramsay. Its impact could destroy life on Earth, causing panic. TV producer Barry and his assistant Winters become involved in events. It is eventually revealed to be a hoax, designed to unite humanity.[2]

Production
[edit | edit source]The series was produced and directed by Daphne Shadwell.[3]
Sequel
[edit | edit source]A 6-episode sequel, Object Z Returns, was broadcast in 1966, but the episodes were subsequently wiped from the archives.[3][4]
