• type: can take the values Red, Silver or Gold (for specific, regional of general contributions to Canada related topics).

• {{subst:The Maple Leaf Award|type=red|--your text here-- ~~~~}} to award the Red Maple Leaf Award for give a user a small kudos for a useful series of edits that you saw them make or for one particularly clever edit that deserves mention.
