Welcome to the future Featured topics section of the Planning Department. Here we plan out any long-term enterprises related to elevating a group of articles to Featured Topic status.
Genesis
[edit source]I have this crazy idea that's been discussed a bit tonight on IRC, but I'm going to toss it out here, since off-wiki discussions don't include everyone. I'd like to make I-70 as a Featured Topic, with a goal to have it done by the end of 2012. Barring any changes to the FT criteria, There are 11 articles we'd need to include (and two we might include) and we'd need a total of six of them to be FAs with the remainder GAs. Of these articles, there is the national-detail and the MD state-detail article that are C-Class. The UT and CO s-ds are FAs already. IL and WV redirect to the n-d article, so they'd need to be created. The remainder of the articles, including a Balitmore city-detail article, are all starts.
Most of the active project members are in states on or adjacent to I-70. If we each take an article, we can get the remainder up to GA at least. Dough can take the PA article, VC the MD (merging in and killing the Balto article), Dan the OH. I can work on the IN article and Fredddie can help with MO. If we can get Scott5114 for KS and lpangelrob on IL, that leaves WV. Dave and Admrboltz can work on the national article, summarizing and editing what's there as needed based off the other sub articles. Of course, anyone else is welcome to help wherever and however they want. Getting everything to GA should be possible over the course of this year, which would allow us to co-nominate this as the first interstate GT.
