{{Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/TF header |shield=Elongated circle blank 2-digit.svg |state=DE|WP:DESR}} {{Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/nav|sub=open}} Welcome to the Delaware Routes Task Force of WikiProject U.S. Roads! The goal of this task force is to cover Interstates, U.S. routes, state routes, and other notable roads in Delaware through well-written quality articles.

Scope and goals

[edit source]

The task force covers Delaware state routes along with Interstates and U.S. routes that run through Delaware. Also included are other notable roads maintained by DelDOT, such as the Puncheon Run Connector, along with coverage of the Delaware Byways system. The goal is to organize, standardize, and expand the articles on highways in Delaware to be a broad, comprehensive, and recognized resource.

Structure and standards

[edit source]

Delaware road articles follow WP:USRD/STDS.

Naming convention

[edit source]

All articles on state routes are named Delaware Route X per WP:SRNC and WP:USSH. Delaware state routes are to be abbreviated DE X.

Shields

[edit source]

Delaware uses Elongated circle X.svg for 1 and 2-digit state route shields and Ellipse sign X.svg for 3-digit state route shields. The shields are at commons:Category:Elongated circular route shields and commons:Category:Elliptical route shields.

Infobox

[edit source]

Delaware road articles use {{Infobox road}}. Remember to set the state parameter to "DE", and the type parameter to I, US, or DE for Interstates, U.S. routes, and state routes respectively. Also include DelDOT in the maint parameter (unless another agency maintains the entire road, such as with I-295), along with any other agencies that maintain portions of the road (such as USACE for the roads that cross the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal). Use {{jct}} to generate the major intersections and termini in the infobox. The browse in the infobox includes all Interstates, U.S. routes, and state routes past and present. Use {{infobox road junction}} for articles about interchanges.

Historic maps

[edit source]

Use {{Delaware road map}} to generate a reference for the DelDOT historic maps.

Junction template

[edit source]

All Delaware road articles should have a major intersections or exit list table (depending on the route) following the standards set forth at MOS:RJL, generated using {{jct}}, {{jcttop}}, {{jctint}}, and {{jctbtm}}. Remember to set the state parameter to "DE".

Use {{Delaware-road-stub}}
