Notes on the example
[edit source]- ^ Use "Member" instead of "Representative."
- ^ "Residence" is the place the Member calls "home" inside (or in rare cases, outside) the district.
- ^ Terms begin on date of special election and qualification, not oath.
- ^ Keep minimum related only to entering or leaving office. Nothing extra like "Speaker of the House." May include "retiring to run for XX office," but don't include if successful if that's not relevant to why they left office.
- ^ Do not split member's years or Congresses for redistricting.
- ^ Image should be as contemporary to the relevant time as possible. If member served non-consecutive terms, then use different contemporary images if possible.
- ^ Only nowrap the Years column.
- ^ Reason/method of death unnecessary in this list, even if otherwise newsworthy (e.g., suicide, murder, etc.)
- ^ Use "incumbent" for existing Congress.
