The Images task force creates and locates suitable images for use on rail transport articles. This task force also works to replace fair use with free images wherever possible.

  • A number of UK rail related images have been marked for deletion on WikiMedia Commons - e.g. here: commons:Commons:Deletion_requests/File:UK_Rail_ticket_showing_Two_Together_discount_code.jpeg which could adversely affect a number of ticket related articles in the project.
  • Retag unreplaceable images currently tagged with {{trainweb}} with an appropriate fair use tag and add fair use rationales.
  • Find and/or create replacements for replaceable images currently tagged with {{trainweb}}.
  • Create or find pictures for categories that are running low on pictures. (e.g new train operating companies or small train stations). Especially in England
  • The new Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line MRT is opened fully, and the new stations need new pictures, especially the underground stations, as the stations are also depicted as a work of art (and therefore needs more encyclopaedic-editing).

General

  • Fulfill the image requests in Category:Rail transport articles needing images
  • Find and nominate suitable images for use as the weekly Selected image on Portal:Trains
  • Replace Hikki Nagasaki's images on Amtrak station articles. They're free, but low-resolution. Higher resolution images would be preferred
  • Add categories to railroad-related images that have yet to be moved to the commons, especially if the images are orphans. One recommended category is Category:Rail transport images, which contains various subcategories. If an abundance of images from one railroad company, or railroad stations from one country, region, or system is categorized, new categories are strongly encouraged.
    • British trains can be categorised using Commons's Template:ukt.
