The Article maintenance task force performs the more mundane tasks involved in maintaining rail transport related articles to as high a level as possible, including tasks listed under Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains/Todo such as bypassing disambiguation pages or keeping track of article topics that still need to be researched and written. This task force is also be responsible for identifying common references used in rail transport articles and providing appropriate templates for citations to them.

In each of these templates, the parameters pages and pages are available to indicate the relevant pages for a specific citation (the "p." and "pp" prefixes are added automatically). These citation templates all piggyback off {{cite book}}, so adding other as yet unused parameters from the base template is a simple matter.
