Welcome to WikiProject Swimming! This WikiProject is dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to competitive swimming and other aquatic sports.
- Goals
-

- To improve Wikipedia's coverage of swimming and water sports by creating, expanding, and maintaining such articles.
- To serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to swimming and water sports in Wikipedia.
- Scope
- The project generally considers any article related to competitive swimming, long course swimming, short course swimming, open water swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and participants, coaches and governing organizations of those disciplines to be within the scope of the project.
Current work
[edit source]This wikiproject is currently inactive. However I (It is a wonderful world) will keep track of the progress on keeping the event articles up to date here, so people can easily see what needs doing. If anyone wants to collaborate with me to work on these articles and/or rejuvenate this project, feel free to ping me! It's always fun working with others.

Departments
[edit source]Assessment
[edit source]The assessment department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's swimming articles. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.
The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WP Swimming}} project banner; this causes the articles to be placed in a set of categories that serves as the basis for an automatically generated worklist.
