{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Spaceflight/Nav}} Welcome to the Unmanned spaceflight task force. Several Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of unmanned spaceflight and the organisation of information and articles on this topic. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this task force will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.

The goals of this task force are to:

  • Standardise and better organise content related to unmanned spaceflight
  • Expand and improve the articles within its scope
  • Create articles related to relevant topics that do not already exist
  • All articles relating to unmanned spaceflight are within the scope of this task force.
  • Articles relating to manned spaceflight are not within this project's scope, and are instead covered by the Human spaceflight task force

Guidelines

[edit source]
  • Most articles should contain sections describing the spacecraft, its launch, its mission or operations, and its outcome.
  • Both SI and imperial units should be used, however SI units should always be given first.
  • All times should be in UTC, with local times in parentheses for ground events. UTC times should use the 24-hour clock, whilst local times should use either 12 or 24 hour clock depending on which is used in the applicable country)
  • Mission durations should be written in clear units (e.g. "1 day, 1 hour, 8 minutes", not "1 day 01:08" or "25:08")
  • Navboxes should be used to navigate between spacecraft related by series, bus, or other similarities.
