Welcome to the Roman Curia Taskforce. Several Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of Roman Curia and the organization of information and articles on this topic. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this Taskforce will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the Roman Curia. Scope
[edit source]- All articles relating to the Roman Curia, not the State of Vatican City (within the competance of WikiProject Vatican City). This includes things like the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Apostolic Chancery (a former Dicastery). This also includes office holders, like the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Cardinal Chancellor of the Holy Roman Church.
What is the "Roman Curia"?
[edit source]- "The Roman Curia is the complex of dicasteries and institutes which help the Roman Pontiff in the exercise of his supreme pastoral office for the good and service of the whole Church and of the particular Churches. It thus strengthens the unity of the faith and the communion of the people of God and promotes the mission proper to the Church in the world." And "By the word 'dicasteries' are understood the Secretariat of State, Congregations, Tribunals, Councils and Offices, namely the Apostolic Camera, the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, and the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See."[1]
- "Among the institutes of the Roman Curia are the Prefecture of the Papal Household and the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff."[2]
