WikiProject Post-hardcore is a project to promote the creation and improvement of articles relating to post-hardcore music and other related genres. The project was originally launched on 10 September 2006 as WikiProject Emo, and was repurposed to include a broader scope as WikiProject Post-hardcore on 19 September 2014. Goals
The goals of this WikiProject are: To organize, create, and improve articles that relate to post-hardcore music To organize, create, and improve articles that relate to related genres and subgenres of post-hardcore, including (but not limited to) Emo pop Emo revival Nintendocore Screamo other related subjects that may slightly fall out of the scope of WikiProject Punk music, WikiProject Alternative music, and WikiProject Metal NOT to start debates about genres (such as what is "punk" vs. "emo" vs. "post-hardcore")
Parentage
The parent of this WikiProject is WikiProject Music. Similar WikiProjects include: WikiProject Alternative music, WikiProject Classical music, WikiProject Computer music, WikiProject Electronic music, WikiProject Hip hop, WikiProject Industrial music, WikiProject Metal music, WikiProject New Wave music, WikiProject Punk music, WikiProject Reggae, and WikiProject Rock music. These are task forces dedicated to specific aspects of post-hardcore such as individual artists, subgenres, etc. If you would like to propose a new task force or work group, make your suggestion on the project talk page to see if other editors are interested. Tasks
If you are wondering where to start, take a look at these tasks: Add yourself to the list of participants. Improve one of our good articles to featured status. Expand and improve our stub articles. Request or provide a song clip at our discussion page. For other ideas, take a look at the to do list, in addition to our talk page. Do not: Insert un-cited and trivial information (see: WP:V and WP:TRIV). Revert war (adherence to the One Revert Rule is encouraged) Add original research, unsourced claims, speculation, point of view, excessive external links, vandalism, and patent nonsense. Argue endlessly over whether a particular artist belongs to a certain genre or not. If at least a few reliable sources say they do, that's enough for Wikipedia. Things to remember: This is a general interest encyclopedia. Articles should be understandable and appeal to both casual readers and dedicated fans of the genre alike. Not every person, band, album, record label, etc. in existence deserves their/its own article. Article topics must demonstrate independent notability using citations to reliable third-party sources. Primary sources are important too, but they are not enough to support an encyclopedia article on their own.
