Welcome to the Metaphysics Task Force, a task force of WikiProject Philosophy. The task force is a group of pages in the "Wikipedia" article namespace which are devoted to the management of a specific topic or family of topics within Wikipedia; and, simultaneously, a group of editors who use those pages to collaborate on encyclopedic work. It is not a place to write encyclopedia articles directly, but a resource to help coordinate and organize the writing and editing of those articles. This group focuses on articles in the field of Metaphysics.
This project is open to all Wiki editors. Adding your name to the roster indicates that you are willing to work with others on the development of Wikipedia's Metaphysics articles, and be an involved member of the project.
Getting started
[edit source]There are a few things you can do right now to get started helping the task force and the project.
- Add yourself to the Participants Roster.
- Watchlist and monitor the Metaphysics log.
- Watchlist and monitor the General Discussion.
- Add {{User WP Metaphysics}} to your user page. It will automatically add you to Category:Metaphysics task force participants. You may also choose to place the Metaphysics navigation banner on your user page as well by adding {{Metaphysics/Nav}}.
Goals
[edit source]WikiProject is a community of Wikipedians who share an interest in Metaphysics and who wish to improve the general quality of Wikipedia Metaphysics articles, and how they are accessed. It is an effort to coordinate the work of Wikipedians who are knowledgeable about Metaphysics.
To improve the quality and range of Wikipedia articles on Metaphysical topics:
- List of topics in metaphysics
- Ensure Category:Metaphysics is accurate and up-to-date
- Monitor Recent changes to Metaphysics topics
- Monitor Recent changes to pages in Category Metaphysics
- To build a community of contributors:
- Participants Roster
- Recruit new members.
Scope
[edit source]The scope of the Metaphysics task force is articles about philosophical inquiry into the nature of the universe, concepts in metaphysics, history of metaphysics, and biographical articles about metaphysicians. Our goal is to find and identify all the substantive topics in metaphysics and expand the Wikipedia presence of those topics. The project is a descendant of WikiProject Philosophy, as metaphysics is a major branch of philosophy.
