Welcome to the Museums WikiProject! A chunk of this text has been stolen borrowed under GFDL ;) from other Wiki Projects.
- Goals
- Improve Wikipedia's coverage of museums.
- Improve quality of existing articles
- Expand smaller museums in non-English dominant countries where articles are little more than a sentence.
- Create guidelines for articles about museums.
- Scope
- The project covers all articles about museums in a wide range of disciplines and locations throughout the world. By member consensus, it does not include aquaria, herbaria, zoos and other non-museum 'collections' because these are well-covered in other projects.
- For those within the museum sector, and collaborations between Wikipedia and institutions, see Wikipedia:Advice for the cultural sector.

Ongoing cleanup
[edit source]There is an ongoing cleanup/developing in the undeveloped stub articles of Category:Museums in Greece to determine which of them meet with notability standards, develop them to at least basic stubs and nominate for deletion all the rest. You can help here. Participants: User:Thaliapap, User:Hoverfish

- Geograph (for photos in the UK) is really good & all CC licensed so can be used – there is even a simple template {{geograph | image-number | author}} for adding them on upload which marks them for transfer to commons.
