Idaho Portal resurrected

The Idaho Portal was resurrected from its early grave. Please take some time to stop by, maybe even improve it.
TheQuinn: I had been on a "couple-year" Wiki-Break and just never noticed it was gone. Then asking for it's resurrection created quite the Dust-up; as I missed the entire effort to completely eradicate Portals.
For reference, I see the article Idaho to be about the state, but the Idaho Portal to be a window/

Renewed effort at Wikipedia:WikiProject Idaho! There are a LOT of stubs, but we also want to create some forward progress getting Start and 'C-Class' articles into GA and FA articles.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to nominate their first FAC?

I would recommend getting a good article nominated, then a featured list up before tackling the FA. Lists are a bit more forgiving but give you a taste of what standards to expect from FA. The most time consuming thing is proper citations so make sure that is in order before starting either.

Anything else you'd like us to know?

The fact that wikipedia exists free of profit motive and free for everyone really is something special and I encourage everyone to donate a few dollars to the cause.

Latest Idaho news from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Idaho community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you.

Recent changes

• Advanced item WikiProject banner changes. Following the resurrection of the Project and Portal (Thanks User:Mjquinn_id), there are discussions about implementing sub-task forces; if only to increase more "small, drive-by" participation.
  • Color scheme was based on "Salmon" and "Potato brown", but it could/should be polled...
• The same for Portal Changes
  • Portal resurrected last month. Massive cleanup by User:Northamerica1000... Kudos! - we need an 'Honorary Idahoan Barnstar'
  • Color scheme retained as "BSU Blue and Orange"

Changes later this month

• Looking to lockdown the overall design of both Project and Portal. Please drop by and illuminate us with your considered opinion. Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Idaho discussions and Portal_talk:Idaho discussions.
• Would like to UNDO the {{WikiProject Idaho}} template WP:SUBST from the Parent US Project.
• Trying to get everything assessed per Wikipedia:WikiProject_Idaho/Article guidelines and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Idaho/Assessment
• Walking through the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Idaho/Cleanup and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Idaho/to do

Future changes

• Advanced item To really flesh out the Task forces with specific tasks/article targets (for the occasional editor/WikiGnome.
• Make sure every article has a Portal link; ideally with a "See also" section.
• Make sure every article has an Idaho footer: {{Idaho}} at the least.
• Mark stubs to sub-WorkGroups when/where possible (to enable focus).
