Project news The WikiProject has received a new look, in the colours of the 2024 contest host country, Sweden. Be sure to take a look at the newly redesigned News Desk and the new Archive tab (which is still under construction). Other contest news ABU TV Song Festival Set to take place on 29 October, the ABU TV Song Festival 2023 will be held in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea at the KBS Hall. This was the location of the ABU TV Song Festival 2012, the inaugural edition. AI Song Contest A Coruña, Spain will host the AI Song Contest 2023 on 9 November, with the theme "Walking with AI" (Spanish: O camiño da IA). It is hosted by Galacia after their entry was runner-up last year. American Song Contest The United States version of the Eurovision Song Contest has been canceled after one edition; the inaugural edition was hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg and was held over eight weeks, with "Wonderland", performed by AleXa and representing Oklahoma, crowned the winner. Eurovision Song Contest Loreen, representing Sweden, won the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with her song "Tattoo", making her the second person (after Ireland's Johnny Logan) and the first woman to win the contest twice as an artist. Käärijä of Finland finished in second place and also won the public vote, while Noa Kirel finished in third place for Israel. The 2024 contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden after being chosen over Stockholm, with Gothenberg and Örnsköldsvik also applying to host. Malmö will stage the event for the third time (following the 1992 and 2013 contests), and will be held on the 7, 9 and 11 May in the Malmö Arena, the same venue as the 2013 edition. Eurovision Choir After being held in 2017 and 2019, the choral contest has been cancelled after preperations had already begun by national broadcasters for the 2023 edition. Eurovision Young Musicians The 2022 edition of classical music competition for 12 to 21 year olds was held in Montpellier, France and won by violinist Daniel Matejča from the Czech Republic after performing the 3rd and 4th movements from Violin Concerto No. 1 by Dimitri Shostakovich, with cellist Philipp Schupelius of Germany placing second, followed by violinist Alma Serafin Kraggerud of Norway in third. The 2024 contest will be held in Bodø, Norway on 17 August 2024. Junior Eurovision Song Contest The 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on 26 November in Nice, France, after "Oh maman !" by Lissandro was voted the winner of the 2022 edition. This was the second song from France to win the contest, following 2020 winner "J'imagine" by Valentina, with both song being written by France's Eurovision 2021 runner-up Barbara Pravi. Regio Songfestival The Regio Songfestival will make its return after 28 years, with the 2023 edition taking place on 4 November at the Stadsschouwburg in Utrecht. Inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest, the song festival will feature 13 artists from regional broadcasters across the Netherlands. The first and only edition was held in 1995, which was won by the song "Bij alles wat ik doe" by Wia Buze representing Groningen. Marcel Bezençon Awards Just before the Eurovision 2023 grand final, the Marcel Bezençon Awards were handed out to Sweden (Artistic Award winner and Press Award winner) and Italy (Composer Award winner). OGAE Second Chance Contest The 2023 edition will take place in Eskilstuna, Sweden and will feature 24 entries which failed to be selected to take part in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. You're a Vision Award A play on the word Eurovision, the most creative and notable outfit award replaces the Barbara Dex Award, and has been awarded by Eurovision fans to Sheldon Riley and Käärijä in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
