WikiProject Collections Care

Welcome to WikiProject Collections Care. The goal of this project is to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics relating to collections care through the creation and continued maintenance of accurate and up-to-date articles. It is hoped that this project will help focus the efforts of other Wikipedians and WikiProjects interested in the topic, allowing for in-depth discussion and greater dissemination of ideas. Scope

This project aims to encourage professionals and other individuals interested in all fields containing collections in need of preservation, to come together and share ideas and knowledge. Fields that will find these articles of particular interest include museums, galleries, libraries, archives, and historic landmarks or buildings.

Goals

• Increase the quality and quantity of articles relating to collections care on Wikipedia.
• Encourage the creation of scholarly, well-referenced articles through the use of WikiProject Collections Care Resources
• Promote a global understanding of techniques, both past and present, used to preserve collections.
• Open a dialogue between field professionals and the general public about matters concerning collections care so as to better the current state of collection preservation.
