Project
The WikiProject Boston Red Sox was formed on August 14, 2007. Although the MLB is covered fairly well on Wikipedia, there is so much more that can be done! This project is dedicated to expanding the coverage of the Red Sox on Wikipedia, including the history, records, statistics, players, coaches, and any other subject that is related to America's most beloved team, the Red Sox! If you feel that you can have a positive contribution to the project, please become a member by joining the list of members. If you don't know what to write or where to begin, or if you have doubts or ideas on how to improve an article, please address the project's discussion forum.
Goals
The project aims primarily to: Create and improve articles whose content is connected to the Boston Red Sox organization. Set up consistent structural and graphical layouts for displaying information on these articles. Other goals include: Bring as much content about the Boston Red Sox to featured status. Maintenance of the Baseball Portal.
Parentage
The Boston Red Sox WikiProject was created as an independent WikiProject and a Child WikiProject of WikiProject Baseball and WikiProject Massachusetts on August 14, 2007. The MLB Project's Parent Wikiproject is WikiProject Sports, while the Massachusetts Project's Parent WikiProject is WikiProject United States.

Help assessing tagged pages by defining the quality parameters, on the template banner, such as the class (completeness status) and interest to the project. Other tasks Invite participants using {{WP BOSOX INVITE}} Bring Boston Red Sox up to Featured Article status Add infoboxes to articles that are lacking them. Bring all core team articles up to at least start-class. Bring main lists up to featured list status. Add info (league standings, statistics, rosters) to each season article. Create a page for every player that was part of the Boston Red Sox organization. Add the importance parameter to {{WikiProject Boston Red Sox}}, and tag all pages accordingly.
