Article structure
[edit source]An anime convention article should have the following:
- Lead: A brief summary of the topic, touching on all the main points of the whole article. At the very least, should describe the convention, how many days it runs, when and where the convention is held, and the convention's organizers. See WP:LEAD for more details.
- Programming: A brief summary highlighting the convention's programming, including any unique and unusual events that occur or originated from the convention and when they were introduced. Avoid listing every event at the convention.
- History: History of the convention, including major changes to the convention, transfer of ownership, etc.
- Event history: Table of events including dates, locations, guests, and where possible, attendance.
- Organizers and/or organization/structure: If applicable.
- Mascot(s): If the convention has a mascot, this section should include the name of the original artist that created the mascot, when the mascot was introduced, how the mascot was adopted, and previous mascots.
- References: All articles should contain a reference section containing the wiki-template {{Reflist}}.
- External links: Should only contain links to the conventions website and organizer's website. Should not contain links to forums, blogs, YouTube, image galleries, fan sites or reviews. (See also WP:EL)
Anime convention articles are not limited to these sections, however, an anime convention article should avoid the following:
- Admission fees
- Listing of staff members
- Controversy section: Substantial controversies covered by reliable sources should be included in the history section, i.e. Anime Expo 2007.
- Trivia sections
