I've been expanding articles about railways in Japan, and this book is completely out of my reach due to problems with my options for libraries being extremely limited. Some information for railway lines in Japan, especially technical ones are usually never on the internet, which the little bits that provide them being unusable blogs, which makes making proper quality articles difficult or impossible. Having a book like this will really remove a large part of that barrier. I can't point to a specific article for this because this would be used for numerous articles within the scope of WP:TIJ. AlphaBetaGamma, thanks for your request, I've sent some info on next steps. Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 01:17, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

@RAdimer-WMF by the way, how do I know the exact status of the request beyond "approved"? (ex. pending purchase, pending delivery) AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 13:48, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
@AlphaBetaGamma: Hi! Sorry for the delays, I've been at Wikiconference North America and will be back late next week/early the week of the 27th. I've yet to purchase your item, and will let you know when the status changes. Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 14:11, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
@AlphaBetaGamma: Ok, looking into this now. Seeing if we're able to purchase it through amazon.co.jp. Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 22:43, 27 October 2025 (UTC)

I had created the article Ifat (historical region) a while ago however I didnt have access to this book which is crucial for Ifat content as its the only book i'm aware of that focuses exclusively on this topic, this book would be cited for various other topics related to Ifat which i've worked on or created. Magherbin (talk) 03:55, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

Magherbin: It's possible we won't be able to fulfill this — only a few sellers and they don't seem to have the best fulfillment rates — but we can try. I've sent you some info on next steps. best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 01:12, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
Ok thanks, i've filled out the form Magherbin (talk) 00:06, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
@Magherbin: I've been unable to find a copy of this aside from the one on Amazon, and will check again later this week (and if not, then move forward with that copy). RAdimer-WMF (talk) 22:37, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
I received the book in the mail today. Thank you very much! Magherbin (talk) 21:08, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

I wrote Shaw Farm, Windsor in 2022 as part of a DYK set for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. This book has a detailed history of the farm but Google Books preview only took me as far as 1880. Search results show some promising snippets spread throughout the book. If this application is successful I reckon I can probably get it to GA level. It would also likely include details on other features in the parks for potential new articles. I've bought books to help expand other articles previously but this one looks to be fairly rare and at £84 is a bit much for me to consider as a personal purchase - Dumelow (talk) 21:34, 24 September 2025 (UTC)

Dumelow: Thanks for your request. I've sent you an email with next steps! Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 23:07, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
Thankyou RAdimer-WMF, I have submitted the form. All the best - Dumelow (talk) 05:49, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

To be used in expanding the article British Columbia Electric Railway. This request is not in scope of RX, as the entire book is needed since I aim to write on the whole topic.

This book is out of print, and is unavailable digitally anywhere including the Internet Archive.

IngeniousPachyderm (talk) 20:13, 8 September 2025 (UTC)

@IngeniousPachyderm: I'm seeing a few copies of a book by the same name/year/ISBN/etc. but with the author listed as "Martin, Pol". Do you know if this is the same book? RAdimer-WMF (talk) 01:34, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
@RAdimer-WMF Thanks for the reply, I don't think it is. I found that book by Pol Martin on the Internet Archive, incorrectly listed as "The story of the B.C. Electric Railway Company by Ewert, Henry", but it seems to actually be a cookbook! You're right, it does share the same ISBN / publisher / release year, so it is indeed super confusing. IngeniousPachyderm (talk) 03:30, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
IngeniousPachyderm, noted. I'll send you an email with next steps. Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 00:59, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
User:RAdimer-WMF Thank you! I've filled out the form now. Please let me know if anything else is needed from me. IngeniousPachyderm (talk) 03:14, 17 September 2025 (UTC)

  • Requesting user: Avocadopiu (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)
  • Resource link and title: OCLC 254487579. General History of Peru. Vol 12. La República contemperanea (1919-1950) by Guerra Margarita
  • Link to request on RX: Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request#August 2025#General History of Peru

Very obscure source on the history of Peru, seems to have no online copies. Found it on a few online bookstores ([2]) but all say that the book isn't available. I'll use it for history of Peru. Specifically this page. Avocadopiu (talk) 07:47, 31 August 2025 (UTC)

Avocadopiu: I couldn't find a copy of this either — not sure where we'd be able to purchase it from. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 01:06, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
Apparently there's a copy in the National Library of Australia.https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/catalog/1892339 Avocadopiu (talk) 04:13, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
Avocadopiu, thanks, I'll reach out with next steps. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 20:46, 22 September 2025 (UTC)

Premeditated Chaos

I am revising this request in a somewhat unusual manner, as ARandomName123 found a WorldCat listing for Nova and it appears to be held in the National Library of Scotland. NLS is able to provide scans of documents, but the cost in GPB is somewhat prohibitive, since there is a £16.80 minimum charge even for one scan. As it happens, I have an active RSX request for an issue of another difficult-to-find magazine, Time Out, which is also held at the NLS. I am wondering if the pilot would be willing to pay for the NLS to make scans of these articles for me, since two scans will cost the same as one. [Edited again to add a third one, since three will also cost the same as one!]

  • Emin, Tracey (June 2000). "Who: Tracey Emin, Juergen Teller, What: Alexander McQueen Collection Autumn/Winter 2000, Where: Gainsborough Film Studios, London N1". Nova (UK magazine) revival.
  • V, Lorna (September 24 1997–October 1, 1997). "All Hail McQueen". Time Out no. 1414.
  • Hume, M. (August 1996). "Scissorhands". Harpers and Queen no. 82.

The Nova issue contains a review of McQueen's Eshu collection, which will be useful for the article's reception section. I would like to see the full text of Emin's review, as it appears to be fairly negative based on the few quotes I've seen, and it would help to provide balanced coverage of the collection.

The Time Out interview is impossible to find online in its unedited form. The version available online in the book Time Out Interviews has been edited down and is missing the content I need. It will be useful for my latest article, Banshee, and apparently contains discussion of several other McQueen collections, so I will cite it wherever possible.

The Harpers and Queen interview is also not available online or in the WMF library insofar as I can tell.

PMC(talk) 04:02, 25 August 2025 (UTC)

Noting that I've seen this and will aim to review on Friday. Best, RAdimer-WMF (talk) 00:44, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
No problem - as it happens, Lorna V got back to me with a scan of the Time Out article just today, so I'm going to cross that one off, but the others would still be helpful. ♠PMC(talk) 01:35, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
Marking as approved — will follow up. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 03:51, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Status:     On hold

[What do you expect to use the resource for?]

  • I will use this book to complete the article on the Rustamid Dynasty and all it rulers, which I am planning to expand, as well as the article by the main author of the book Ibn al-Saghir. Regards Riad Salih (talk) 20:14, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Since you've edited a lot at the Arabic Wikipedia but not much at the German-language Wikipedia, do you want the Arabic version, rather than German? WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:05, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi @WhatamIdoing Thanks, but I actually need both versions, which is why there isn't just one. I've contributed more to the frwiki rather than arwiki, since I'm comfortable with the languages. I've also made a request here too. Regards Riad Salih (talk) 20:02, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi Riad Salih, thank you for your request. I'll place this on hold pending the discussion at RX. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 21:30, 8 July 2025 (UTC)
Hi Riad Salih, were you planning to reply on the RX discussion? It looks like you may be able to get some of the book through there. If that would not be sufficient for what you want to use the resource for, let us know and we can look into fulfilling it through this process. RAdimer-WMF (talk) 22:28, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
