[edit source]Gallery of all species in a genus
[edit source]I have a picture of a fern which supposedly belongs to the genus Blechnum. Is there an online gallery of images that includes all Blechnum species? Is there a website that arranges images of plants into genus-based galleries? Surtsicna (talk) 15:32, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- I don't know of any galleries off-hand, but there have been multiple attempts to build apps that serve to identify plants based on their leaves. There's a recap here that may point you to a useful tool. More stuff is outlined at Automated species identification. (I understand none of that answers your literal question; I'm assuming that you're asking for a gallery in order to identify the plant in question). Matt Deres (talk) 19:41, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- PetScan can be useful here. Use the thumbnails option. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:05, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
Acoustic stringed instrunents
[edit source]How , exactly, is the energy of the vibrating string transmitted to the body of the instrument? Ie, how does the bridge transmit the string vibrations to the body? There is no info I can find on this in wikipedia, and very very little else where on the web. 86.8.200.249 (talk) 22:42, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- Reflectance and Transmittance of a Yielding String Termination, which is a subchapter of the book we were discussing earlier.
- Here's Tone Tips: Bridges from Gibson, a major guitar brand.
