[edit source]

National Xolo REscue does not exist it is still and always has been Xolo Rescue League I am president of XRL and if you wish to confirm this you can contact the Xolo Club of America at their website- the current president who is now functioning is Kathy Lawson- the previous is now retired. http://www.xoloitzcuintliclubofamerica.org/Home_Page.html

Since then, the XCA has compiled a stud book modeled on requirements for eventual AKC acceptance, held an annual independent specialty show, published a quarterly newsletter, The Xolo News, and maintained an active national rescue network, National Xolo Rescue (known before 2009 as The Xolo Rescue League[4]). As of January 1, 2007, FSS registered Xolos are eligible to compete in AKC performance events. The breed will —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.158.167.84 (talk) 01:02, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Your post appears to be about the article Mexican Hairless Dog. I have notified an editor of that article at User talk:SidP#National Xolo Rescue. PrimeHunter (talk) 01:20, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

including a name of a village

[edit source]

how to include a small village name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.97.243.136 (talk) 06:05, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

If you are talking about linking to another page, type in [[<Page Name Here>]] minus the "< & >"'s. — Eloc 06:11, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
If you are asking about creating an article about a village, standard advice follows:

A Wizard is available to walk you through these steps. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.
You will need to first register an account, which has many benefits, including the ability to create articles. Once you have registered, please search Wikipedia first to make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. Please also review a few of our relevant policies and guidelines which all articles should comport with. As Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, articles must not contain original research, must be written from a neutral point of view, should cite to reliable sources which verify their content and must not contain unsourced, negative content about living people.
Articles must also demonstrate the notability of the subject. Please see our subject specific guidelines for people, bands and musicians, companies and organizations and web content and note that if you are closely associated with the subject, our conflict of interest guideline strongly recommends against you creating the article.
If you still think an article is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:How to write a great article, and please consider taking a tour through the Wikipedia:Tutorial so that you know how to properly format the article before creation. An Article Wizard is available to walk you through creating an article, but you will need to create an account to use it. if you don't wish to do so, you can submit a proposal for an article at Articles for Creation. – ukexpat (talk) 16:35, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Sharing a reference

[edit source]

Hi, I want to share(use) one reference in different parts of an article. How am I supposed to do it? Help me, please! *** in fact *** (contact) 07:19, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

By naming the reference. At the first use: <ref name=name>reference</ref>. The second time you can just use <ref name=name/> Jarkeld (talk) 07:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) If I understand you correctly, you want to use the same reference again for a many different statements in the same article. You would do this by naming the ref. Your first use of the reference will look like this <ref name=foo>Insert reference here</ref>. And then whenever you want to use that same reference again, you would simply use <ref name=foo /> without all the other reference info. Clear? Dismas|(talk) 07:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! But,could you please do just one example for me in this article? I will do the rest myself. Thank you in advance! *** in fact *** (contact) 07:33, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Dual accounts

[edit source]

Hi, is it possible to have two accounts to keep your edits to two very different topics separate, provided you have a link to say that the two accounts are owned by the same person? Help would be great!Peaceworld111 (talk) 12:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi Peaceworld111. Please read Wikipedia:Sock puppetry#Legitimate uses and Wikipedia:Sock puppetry#Alternative account notification. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 12:35, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Change Name of Article without Confirmed status

[edit source]

The name of the article Halifax, nova scotia ( http://pt.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Halifax,_nova_scotia&redirect=no ) should be changed to capitalize Nova Scotia [Halifax, Nova Scotia]. I'm unable to do this myself, as I don't have confirmed status (or an account, etc.) but if someone could (as it's now the facebook location page) this grammar nerd would appreciate it!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.177.61.206 (talk) 14:07, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

This help desk is for the English-language Wikipedia. For questions about the Portuguese Wikipedia please ask there. -- John of Reading (talk) 14:25, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
The page itself is actually on simply Halifax, the page with the uncapitalized province is a redirect page.Naraht (talk) 14:30, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
There is an article called Halifax, Nova Scotia on the English Wikipedia, with Nova Scotia capitalized.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:05, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
pt:Halifax, Nova Scotia is a redirect to pt:Halifax. I guess the question is whether pt:Halifax, nova scotia should also be a redirect to pt:Halifax, but that's a question for Portugese Wikipedia. – ukexpat (talk) 16:40, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Rix Centre help with Wikipedia project groups

[edit source]

Hi, came across the Rix Centre article, it needs a clean-up, NPOV-ing, more references, and wiki-links in and out of the article. I was wondering if anybody could direct me towards wiki-projects relating to charities, research groups, disability (or just tell me what page to go to and I can find them myself) I've been on here for a while editing articles and such, but I'm dire at navigating through the community parts of wikipedia Cheers Darigan (talk) 15:03, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Try Wikipedia:WikiProject Disability and Wikipedia:WikiProject Organizations. I don't see any WikiProjects more specific to the article, but you can look for yourself in the directory from Wikipedia:WikiProject. --Mysdaao talk 15:58, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Much appreciated Mysdaao - following up the links now, cheers Darigan (talk) 16:15, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

I need to get the Janet Graham redirect page removed. I wrote a stub on Janet Graham (composer) and then, looking at the links, found that there were other Janet Grahams in the system so moved the page. However, the redirect page was automatically formed so the move was ineffective at cutting the links. How do I get rid of it? Thanks. Pkeets (talk) 15:42, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

What other Janet Grahams are there? I don't see any. IMO, it looks like the article for the composer is the only one and should be at, simply, Janet Graham. Dismas|(talk) 15:45, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
I saw none either; the "what links here" tool suggests there are no links to it from other articles about different Janets, so I have undone the page move. I was doing it as Dismas left the above message, I suspect. BencherliteTalk 15:47, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay, there is Janet Grahame Johnstone but that could just be solved with a "for the..." hatnote. Dismas|(talk) 15:51, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Edit Associated Acts under a band wiki

[edit source]

A member of a band I like has a member that released a single recently and I was going to add the band to the Associated Acts.

How do I edit associated acts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Risethefall (talkcontribs) 18:40, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Near the top of the article you should see the usage of the template Infobox musical artist, which will begin with:
{{Infobox musical artist
and be followed by a number of different fields. Look for the field named "Associated_acts", and edit what's the to right of the equals sign. If you don't see "Associated_acts" add it as a new field. --Mysdaao talk 19:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Help editing page

[edit source]
I have added this to the Carvelli talk page. Kittybrewster 21:17, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
'Youtube' is not a reliable source. We need to stick to verifiable facts - and anything lacking such a reference (to e.g. a newspaper, book) could be removed, by anyone.
We also need to be neutral. For example, saying He has been a big player in the Italian Movement. He's currently very active - is opinion, and not fact.
I could edit it, and say he is not very active. How can we check which is correct? Please read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners to see how we ensure the facts check out.  Chzz  ►  00:59, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
