  • For what it's worth, I'm the one who tagged this article (and the image on the page) for speedy deletion, and I had the same thought but from what I could tell the author of the page is the artist (same writing style as official website and and similar username for webhost) and likely also submitted the same info to soundclick (in the Interview section). If I did the wrong thing I would appreciate it if someone would let me know so I don't make the same mistake again. Thanks. VernoWhitney (talk) 17:49, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Technically, as I understand it, if the editor here is in fact the same person who wrote the text on the other site then posting here isn't a copyvio because by posting here the test is released under our license (now the CC-by-sa 3.0, when this was posted the GFDL). IIRC we used to accept statements of that sort somewhat easily. But it is too easy for anyone on the net to claim to be the author or to "have been given permission" when those statements are inaccurate or at best incomplete. So now we require a more explicit license statement archived with the foundation via OTRS, or an actual release on the source site. However, when the apparent copyvio has been in the page history for a long time, and particularly when it seems to have been created here by multiple edits, I often try to find out when the "source" page was posted. If the source page is more recent than the text in the Wikipedia history, then I will assume that we were copied from, not copiers. But cases like this are tricky, and I can't say that your tagging was incorrect. I hope for comment from one of the regular copyright patrollers on this issue. DES (talk) 20:05, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
  • The age of this material is uncertain, but the content was also on the official website, [2], before it reached us. Lacking verification, we have no choice but to delete the article; however, I have left {{cup}} at the contributor's talk page in case he is the copyright holder. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:36, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
