• Pheidole purpurea (history · last edit) from the academic article Longino, J. T., 2009, Additions to the taxonomy of New World Pheidole (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)., Zootaxa (2181), pp. 1-90: 67-70., abstract available here, and description imported from plazi.org. Interesting case here where the esteemed authors of this article in BMC Research Notes argue that original descriptions of species are descriptions of nature, not a creative work and thus not copyrightable. Those associated with Plazi.org and its mission have been importing some of these descriptions as new articles (mostly the contributions of Gsautter (talk · contribs)), claiming their copyright arguments also apply to the use of the descriptions in Wikipedia.
