Milton Carpenter (March 4, 1905 – November 19, 1996) was an American politician. He served as the State Treasurer of Missouri from 1961 to 1965.[1]
Life and career
[edit | edit source]Carpenter was born in St. Louis in 1905 and attended Washington University in St. Louis. He worked as a construction executive before fighting in World War II. Carpenter then served as the city comptroller of St. Louis and as the director of the Missouri Department of Revenue under Governor James T. Blair Jr. He was elected Treasurer of Missouri in 1960, holding the office until 1965.[2]
Carpenter was married to Janet Naomi Parham, and died in 1996. Carpenter was Jewish.[2]
