Milly Shapiro is an American actress and singer. She won an honorary Tony Award in 2013 for her work in the Broadway production of Matilda the Musical. She starred in the 2018 horror film Hereditary. In 2021, Shapiro and Spencer Arjang co-created the band AFTERxCLASS.
Awards
[edit | edit source]Shapiro won a Tony Honor in 2013 with Sophia Gennusa, Bailey Ryon, and Oona Laurence for her Broadway debut in Matilda, making her the youngest recipient of the award in history.[1] In 2013, she was also nominated for the Grammy for "Best Musical Theater Album" for the musical's cast album.[2]
Personal life
[edit | edit source]Shapiro is the younger sister of Abi Monterey,[3] who is also an actress as well as a stuntwoman. The siblings perform together as the Shapiro Sisters.[4][5][6]
Along with her sister and mother, Shapiro was born with cleidocranial dysostosis.[7][8]
