Middle Handley is a village in North East Derbyshire in the county of Derbyshire in England.

Location

[edit | edit source]

Middle Handley lies just south of the village of Marsh Lane, south-west of Eckington, west of West Handley and about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of the village of Ridgeway.[1]

History

[edit | edit source]

Like most hamlets and villages in the area, during the 17th and 18th centuries the area was known for sickle smithing and farming.[2]

St. John The Baptist Church, which is found in the centre of the village, dates back to 1838.[3]
