The Microsoft Pen Protocol or MPP is a protocol developed by Microsoft for digital pens, designed mainly for Surface Pen but also used by other hardware manufacturers, like HP.
The protocol is based on technology developed by N-trig[1] (a separate company at the time, though acquired by Microsoft in 2015 for US$200 million),[2][3]
