Meringa leith is a species of Physoglenidae spider endemic to New Zealand.[1]
Taxonomy
[edit | edit source]This species was described in 1990 by Ray Forster from male and female specimens. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.[1]
Description
[edit | edit source]The male is recorded at 5.19mm in length whereas the female is 3.35mm.[1]
Distribution
[edit | edit source]This species is only known from a forest near Dunedin, New Zealand.[1]
Conservation status
[edit | edit source]Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size", "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[2]
