History

[edit | edit source]

Mercy Health Fairfield was opened in 1978[2] to serve greater Cincinnati and the Miami Valley area. The hospital was the first hospital in Bulter County to offer open heart surgery. It was also the first to use robotic surgery for patient care.[3]

Mercy Health Fairfield was originally constructed to support 150-beds. Expansions in the mid-eighties, mid-nineties and 2005 added services and expanded in-patient beds to 220.

In 2022, the hospital presented plans to the Fairfield City Council and Planning Commission to expand by adding a 30,000-square-foot single-story medical office building.[4]
