Memphis Kelly known professionally as Memphis LK (born March 30, 1997) is an Australian singer, songwriter, record producer, DJ and daughter of Australian musician Paul Kelly and actress Kaarin Fairfax.[2] She has played at many festivals, including Splendour in the Grass, Party in the Paddock, Beyond the Valley, Listen Out, Pitch Festival, Great Escape Festival and Way Out West.[3] She is currently signed to the label Dot Dash Recordings.[4]
Early life
[edit | edit source]Kelly grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and originally wanted to be a marine biologist growing up.[5] She began making music with her sister as a child.
Career
[edit | edit source]Memphis started her solo career in 2019 after previously being in the duo Saatsuma. Around age 18, she learned to use music software Ableton, which allowed her to produce her own music independently. She has mentioned her sound is influenced by electronic music artists like Four Tet, James Blake, and Burial, as well as genres such as UK garage, breakbeat, and detroit electro.[6] She has been previously nominated for AIR Awards and Music Victoria Awards.[7][8]
Personal life
[edit | edit source]She is currently in a relationship with Australian rapper Allday and expecting their first child in 2026.[citation needed]
