Koothappar is a neighbourhood of the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated in the heart of the city.
Geography

Demographics
[edit | edit source]As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Koothappar had a population of 17,061. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Koothappar has an average literacy rate of 87%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 91%, and female literacy is 84%. In Koothappar, 7% of the population is under 6 years of age.
