Jonathan Aris (born 24 January 1971) is an English actor who has appeared in films, television, and theatre. He is known for his roles as the irascible policeman Anderson in the BBC series Sherlock, the angelic quartermaster in the Amazon Prime series Good Omens and Commander Roke in the BBC/HBO series His Dark Materials.
Early life and education
[edit | edit source]Born 24 January 1971, Jonathan Aris is the son of Yemaiel Oven and Ben Aris.[1]
Career
[edit | edit source]Aris has narrated TV documentaries produced and aired by the National Geographic Channel, and appeared as Philip Anderson in Sherlock.[2]
In 2016, he appeared in Tutankhamun as the American Egyptologist Herbert Winlock,[3] and appears as the angelic quartermaster in the Amazon Prime series Good Omens.[4]
Personal life
